Dr. John C. Minichetti, Director

Dr. Minichetti is a general dentist who has been placing and restoring implants for over 25 years. Dr. Minichetti is a former faculty member of Fairleigh Dickenson University, Mt Sinai Medical School and Englewood Hospital, President of the Bergen County Dental Implant Study Group, Secretary of the AAID , Chairman of the AAID Research Foundation and AAID Study Club Committee. He has published numerous scientific articles and lectured worldwide. Dr. Minichetti has been the director of the Dental Implant Learning Center, located just 10 minutes from NYC, where he instructs a year long weekly “mini-residency” for dentists learning both implant surgery and restoration. He has trained hundreds of students in implant dentistry and most are now routinely performing dental implant surgery.

"I had been looking for an implant course for a year or so prior to signing up for the Las Vegas Maxi- Course. I had taken some weekend warrior courses but I knew that if this was something I was going to be offering my patients, I wanted a more comprehensive course. When I found out that there was a course that would provide the education that I desired, worked with my schedule and allowed me to escape to Las Vegas once a month I immediately signed up. Thw course incorprated cadaver exercises, live patients surgeries, a hands-on weekend with Zimmer and countless speakers covering not only implants, but bone grafting, soft tissue grafting and pharmacology. The instructors went out of their way to ensure that we came away for the experience better clinicians. My goal for when I signed up for the course was to be placing implants by the time I was done with the course. I was placing them after the sixth module at the Zimmer Institute and have been placing them in the office ever since .The course gave me the confidence that I needed along with the knowledge and experience to offer implant surgery to my patients. After passing the written exam, I'm currently on my way to completing the requirements for the AAID Associate Fellowship, something I hadn't even considered prior to the course. The Las Vegas Maxi-Course was a great course and a great investment in implant education.

The quality of information was excellent and having the opportunity to utilize facilities at the university of Las Vegas and at the Oquendo center was great. This course was exactly what I was looking for. It allowed me to gain the knowledge and experience to begin placing implants with confidence through cadaver work, hands on model work and a live patient placement. This course also allows participants to take the written exam for associate fellow status in the AAID. The course directors were a wealth of information and help in diagnosis of cases and questions.

Drs. Minichetti and Iyer worked hard to make sure all participants got what they needed from the course.

Las Vegas was the perfect place to have this course with a plethora of dining and entertainment options to keep me busy in the evenings and made for a more enjoyable experience overall.
